SUMMARIZE YOUR CAREER/PERSONAL PATH OVER THE LAST FIFTY YEARS.
After graduation I attended Jr College for 1 year when my father lost his job. I left to work and help out. I married, had two children, and assisted my husband in starting a chain of ladies clothing stores across the state. I later went back to college, got my degree and then attended UConn for an MBA in Finance. After that I got a Certified Financial Planner License and started my own financial planning practice where I am today. I have a very successful practice which I have been growing for the last 25 years. I am in the top 10% of planners at my broker/dealer, an independent brokerage firm representing independent planners across the country. I now have 4 grandchildren. My oldest son died of a brain tumor 4 1/2 years ago, but his children and wife live nearby and are an important part of my life. He was a utility attorney with a top law firm in Hartford and my younger son started and owns Barcoding, Inc (Barcoding.com), a large company in Baltimore with over 100 employees across the US and around the world. He is also chairman of TEDCO, a non profit organization started by the state of MD to bring seed money to new start up technology companies in Maryland.

WHICH NATIONAL/INTERNATIONAL EVENTS HAVE MOST INFLUENCED/IMPACTED YOU SINCE
HIGH SCHOOL?
My life has been a series of wonderful experiences. I did a lot of volunteer work when my children were young, taught belly dancing and aerobic dancing at most of the YWCA's in greater Hartford, worked for Chris Dodd in his first Senate election, took pottery lessons, played tennis, and traveled. Even in my career I became a member of national committees in my profession and have been interviewed on TV, radio and in print across the country.

WHAT PERSONAL EVENTS IMPACTED YOU THE MOST? Growing up without money (poor) still impacts my life.

WHAT ARE YOUR GREATEST HOPES AND CONCERNS FOR FUTURE GENERATIONS? I am very concerned for the future generation and the mis-management of the babyboomer generation of our economy. Greed and corruption are rampant, we are turning into a country like the countries in this world that we wonder about.

WHAT ARE YOU LOOKING FORWARD TO IN YOUR FUTURE? Watching my grandchildren turn into wonderful human beings. I also look forward to working for as long as my brain holds out.

WHAT ARE YOUR SPECIAL OR MOST OUTSTANDING MEMORIES FROM OUR YEARS AT NBHS? Good question, I find that one hard to answer. I did go back to NBHS to do a retirement seminar for the retiring teachers. There was only one left, who was retiring that year, who was there when we graduated. It felt strange to be back, even though it was a different building. As I was driving by our old high school the song "Memories" came on the radio.
